Don't come here expecting anything other than diner food. The portions are generous and food is freshly cooked. It can be loud and there can be a wait for food, but it is the center of life in Ogdensburg. It is a popular place for breakfast. Seating is crowded and it has been well worn. Enjoy it for what it is
I have been eating here all my life! The staff is friendly and helpful. The meal was amazing. This is an older establishment , so yes it is worn. But, that has a lot to do with the traffic this dinner has seen. I generally drink decaf coffee and have never had a butter cup, ever. This is one of our "Home away from home" places. Great food, service, and people.
A lot of greasy food. One of the waitresses is a real grouch. There's usually a long wait and in the winter, it's cold and drafty. They're open until 3 am most nights which is good for the police working the graveyard shift to get their donuts and coffee.
At one time this would have been a 5-star review for me anyway. But this Hometown Diner has gone downhill in the last 40 years. Coffee used to be the best in town. Hands down! Now it's just warmed up water. And the home fries, don't get me going on the home fries. Yeah it's a good place to go after a good night out drinking but not when you're sober. Not anymore anyway. I'm thinking this Hometown Diner has lost its hometown flair.
This is a diner, they serve diner food and all that goes with it. I only stop here for coffee and breakfast, as the food is good and reasonably priced. It is a well trafficked area and a frequent spot for the locals here in town.
